The EtherWAN EL2242-BT industrial fiber media converter connects a fiber network to a compatible PoE device, delivering Ethernet data and up to 90W of power through its RJ45 port. Its dual rate SFP slot lets you select a compatible fiber module for your network’s speed, fiber type, and required distance.

Built for demanding installations, its fanless aluminum housing supports operation in harsh environments. Redundant DC power inputs provide an alternative power connection, while Link Fault Pass Through helps connected equipment detect copper or fiber link failures.

Common Questions

Is an SFP module included?
No. Select a compatible 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps fiber SFP separately. The module determines the fiber type, connector, wavelength, and distance. Use compatible optics at the other end.

What power supply does it require?
Use an external 52–56VDC supply with sufficient capacity for the converter and connected PoE device. The converter consumes 2W at 52VDC without PoE. EtherWAN’s datasheet specifies 90W PoE output at 56VDC input. The power supply and connecting wiring are sold separately.

Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes, inside a suitable protective cabinet or enclosure. Its IP30 housing must be protected from rain and moisture.
