The EtherWAN SFPTIM3AE provides 10 Gbps multimode fiber connectivity for compatible Ethernet switches and other supported networking equipment. Its commercial temperature rating makes it suitable for equipment rooms, business networks, and other installations operating within the specified temperature range.

The module uses two multimode fiber strands through a duplex LC connection. Maximum reach depends on the installed fiber’s grade, bandwidth, and optical losses. Confirm that your equipment supports this 10 Gbps transceiver and that your fiber supports the required distance before ordering.

Common Questions

Will this module work in a standard Gigabit SFP port?
A port that supports only 1 Gbps SFP modules will not support this 10 Gbps transceiver. Check that your equipment has a compatible 10 Gbps SFP+ port and supports the SFPTIM3AE’s transceiver specifications. Use a compatible 10 Gbps multimode optical transceiver at the other end.

What fiber cable does this module require?
It requires two strands of compatible multimode fiber with duplex LC connectors at the module. Confirm the fiber grade and supported distance before ordering. Choose the connectors at the other end to match your patch panel or equipment. 

Will this module reach 300m on any multimode fiber?
No. The maximum specified reach is 300m, but achievable distance depends on the multimode fiber’s grade and bandwidth, along with optical losses from connectors and splices. Older multimode fiber may support a shorter distance. Confirm your installed fiber’s specifications and the optical requirements at both ends when planning the link.
