The EtherWAN SFPTIS40M provides 10 Gbps single-mode fiber connectivity for compatible Ethernet switches and other supported networking equipment. Its hardened temperature rating makes it suitable for industrial equipment, transportation systems, utility networks, and other installations exposed to wide temperature changes.

The module uses two 9/125µm single-mode fiber strands through a duplex LC connection. It supports links up to 40km, subject to the link’s optical losses. Confirm that your equipment supports this 10 Gbps transceiver, along with the installed fiber type and required distance, before ordering.

Common Questions

Will this module work in a standard Gigabit SFP port?
A port that supports only 1 Gbps SFP modules will not support this 10 Gbps transceiver. Check that your equipment has a compatible 10 Gbps SFP+ port and supports the SFPTIS40M’s transceiver specifications. Use a compatible 10 Gbps optical transceiver at the other end.

What fiber cable does this module require?
It requires two strands of 9/125µm single-mode fiber with duplex LC connectors at the module. Use an LC-to-LC patch cable for an LC connection at the other end, or an SC-to-LC patch cable when connecting to an SC patch panel or compatible SC-equipped device.

Will this module work over any distance up to 40km?
The maximum specified reach is 40km, but distance alone does not determine compatibility. Fiber, connectors, and splices contribute optical losses, and the receiving transceiver’s input limits must also be considered. Short links may require optical attenuation to keep the received power within those limits. Confirm the optical specifications at both ends when planning the link.
